Senior Tax CPA / Tax Manager

We’re a well-established CPA firm in River Falls, WI seeking a Senior Tax CPA / Tax Manager who wants more than “another busy season.”

This position is designed for someone who :

  • Has strong experience in individual and small‑business tax ,
  • Wants direct client relationships and input on firm decisions, and
  • Is serious about a 2–4 year path to equity as part of a planned partner transition.

What we offer

  • $41–$50 / hr base (DOE)
  • 1.5x OT pay (busy‑season hours recognized and rewarded)
  • Typical total comp : $95,000–$120,000+ , with up to ~$130,000
  • 4‑day workweek (Fridays off) May–December
  • SIMPLE plan with 3% employer match
  • $5,000 relocation stipend for moves >

    • 60 miles

  • Direct line to partnership in 2–4 years , not “someday”

    • What you’ll do

  • Prepare and review complex 1040s (multi‑state, rentals, Sch C / E / F, K‑1, high‑income)
  • Prepare and review 1120‑S, 1065, 1120 and related state returns
  • Oversee QBO cleanups, year‑end adjustments, and small‑business accounting
  • Lead client relationships, tax planning, and advisory for individuals & closely held businesses
  • Review and mentor staff; help shape processes and standards
  • Work on‑site with a collaborative team that values responsiveness, quality, and relationships

    • What we’re looking for

  • Active CPA (or near completion)
  • 5+ years recent public accounting experience in tax
  • Strong skills in individual and entity taxation
  • Experience with Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, SmartVault, or similar tools preferred
  • Confident communicator who likes working directly with clients
  • Ready to commit to an in‑office role and interested in ownership, not just employment
