Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a New Mexico or compact license and TNCC certification for a Level I trauma setting.
Responsibilities
Position is in a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital within the Emergency DepartmentUnit includes ED, potential floating to Peds ED (optional), Adult PCUs, ED Holding, and Trauma depending on staffing needsNight shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per week (4x12 hour shifts, 19 : 00 - 07 : 30)Patient ratios are typically 1 : 5 in the EDA high percentage of admissions and increased ED holdingUses Cerner for chartingWeekend shifts are required as needed, with weekend nights including Friday, Saturday, and SundayNo on-call requirementsFirst-time travelers may be considered if they have 2+ years of Level I trauma experienceDuties include medication administration, IV therapy, and thorough clinical documentation and communicationBlack scrubs required and not providedFree parking available for staffRequests for more than 7 days of time off require approvalRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration)Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required; will review candidates with at least 1.5 years of experienceLevel I trauma experience preferredCurrent ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must be obtained before consideration), PALS requiredNIHSS certification can be obtained prior to compliance due dateCOVID vaccination required unless granted exemption (religious / medical, requires documentation)Applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the hospitalBenefits
