Summary

The Mechanical Engineering Lab Technician, as a Member of the Encoder Group, you will provide assistance in testing various products. This includes setting up, wiring, and soldering fixtures according to the provided specifications. Additionally, they will be responsible for creating comprehensive test reports detailing the outcomes of the testing process.

The desired qualifications for this position include:

• Minimum 5-10 Years as Lab technician
• Engineering Technology Degree preferred. Will look at combination of Education and Experience.
• Proficiency in operating a manual lathe and manual end mill.
• Reading and understanding mechanical drawings
• Assembling/setup of mechanical test fixtures according to the drawing.
• Proficient with manual lathe and mill to modify or create simple parts.
• Basic troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies
• Proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Experience in executing product tests.
• Strong technical writing skills, particularly in creating reports.
• Basic troubleshooting abilities for mechanical assemblies.

Preferred prior experience with relevant technologies includes:

• Knowledge of 3D Modeling, particularly Autodesk Inventor.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Proficiency in point-to-point wiring.
• Experience in electrical assembly, including soldering.
• Mechanical fixture design expertise.
• Mechanical assembly proficiency for products and fixtures.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for both electronics and mechanical assemblies.
• Technical writing skills for creating reports.
• Execution of product tests.
• Proficiency in standard software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
