As a Loan Officer at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, you will play a pivotal role in making sound lending decisions that put our members first. Your expertise in consumer lending will allow you to provide exceptional service, ensuring all interactions align with our established lending policies and procedures. While specializing in consumer loans, you will expand your knowledge by gaining experience in real estate lending, enhancing your skills in the financial sector. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A LOAN OFFICER

To thrive as a Loan Officer at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, you will need a unique blend of skills and a commitment to operational excellence. Essential functions encompass a proactive, growth mindset, with an affinity for embracing change and driving process improvement. Successful candidates will demonstrate resourcefulness and collaboration, employing a SOAR approach to interactions with members and colleagues alike.

You will be responsible for evaluating and processing consumer loan applications, including Home Equity products, while ensuring compliance with lending regulations such as BSA, OFAC, and others. Proficiency in analyzing and making timely lending decisions while adhering to established guidelines is critical, as is the ability to effectively communicate with members about loan statuses, approvals, and denials. You will guide members through the loan process, maintaining accuracy in documentation and records.

Additionally, you will work with Meridian Link, AI-powered tools, and other advanced Loan Origination System (LOS) platforms to streamline lending workflows and enhance the member experience. Your capability to cross-sell relevant credit union products and services will further enrich member relationships and contribute to overall growth.

Strong problem-solving abilities will allow you to identify and address issues promptly, ensuring a seamless loan process. All of this will be done while fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and continuous improvement within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• AA degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years experience in consumer lending as a loan officer and / or processing.
• Working knowledge and experience of consumer credit laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and Internet.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks, under pressure, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• A high degree of confidentiality.
• Excellent member service skills.
• Working knowledge of all lending products and services.
• Working knowledge of credit reporting functions and application of credit scoring system.
• Working knowledge of lending regulations and laws.
• Working knowledge of underwriting principles.
