The Coney Island YMCA is seeking a Maintenance Worker / Porter who will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. The Maintenance Worker / Porter may also be required to complete duties related to window washing, meeting set-up, pool cleaning, snow removal, groundskeeping, and other related responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities :

• Ensure the Coney Island YMCA is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining the upkeep of the assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.
• Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
• Ensures the Coney Island YMCA building and property are secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
• Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• May set up furniture and / or rooms for events.
• Strip and wax floors and shampoo rugs as needed.
• Follow the standards of the DOH, DOB, FDNY, HPD, and ECB Departments.
• Follow YMCA Housekeeping Policies and Procedures.
