Assistant City Attorney Municipal Prosecutor (Camden)

The municipal law portfolio covers a wide variety of practice areas. As a member of our team, you can expect to handle multiple legal matters simultaneously. The day-to-day responsibilities for the Assistant City Attorney position include :

• Serve as a Municipal Prosecutor in Municipal Court.
• Provide legal representation to the City in judiciary and administrative proceedings, including trial and appellate work.
• Preparing pleadings, participating in the preparation of cases for litigation, coordinating with outside counsel, and negotiating the settlement of disputes.
• Advise City officials and agencies regarding government contracting, commercial contracting, municipal law, and related topics.
• Negotiate transactions and draft contracts.
• Draft and interpret City ordinances, rules and regulations, and charter requirements.
• Conduct and / or supervise legal research.
• Assist other attorneys working in specialized areas with research and other related activities.
• Prepare timely and appropriate responses to inquiries from the general public about public information and municipal regulations and procedures.
• Facilitate major property acquisitions for City projects, including title work, document preparation and condemnations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
