Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a compact or WV RN license and at least two years of OR experience.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute hospital Operating Room setting with Level 2 Trauma designationOperates within 11 total rooms, including 8 OR suites and 3 Endoscopy suitesHandles all case types except for open heart surgeries, including general, ortho, neuro, ENT, vascular, and eye casesUtilizes Baxter pumps and robotic technology such as Phillips, Dynomap, and DaVinci RobotEpic EMR is used for all documentationDay shifts are 12 hours with weekends as scheduledFour 10-hour shifts per week with participation in a call rotationCall includes one weeknight call every 4 weeks (7pm-7am) and one weekend call shift per 3-month contractCross-training to Endo procedures is providedDuties include scrubbing and circulating for a wide variety of surgical casesMay assist with vascular, neuro, orthopedic, ENT, and general proceduresParticipation in call rotation is mandatoryFirst-time travelers are acceptedReturning travelers must have a two-year break if previously employed at any WVU Medicine locationTravelers cannot work within the WVU system for longer than one year consecutively; a two-year break must be observed thereafterBlue scrubs are required and are providedHoliday coverage may be required per department scheduleRequirements
Active WV or compact RN licenseMinimum of two years recent Operating Room nursing experienceCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredExperience in all areas of the Operating Room requiredFamiliarity with Epic EMR preferredExperience with DaVinci Robot is a strong plusMust provide a copy of an unexpired driver’s license for considerationMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a travelerACLS certification required for permanent staffBenefits
