Our client, a leader in the insurance industry, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team. As a Business Analyst, you will be part of the strategic initiatives supporting operational excellence and system / process improvements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization. Location : Remote, based in California near one of the following locations : Bakersfield, Eureka, Fresno, Glendale, Pleasanton, Redding, Riverside, Rohnert Park, San Diego, Sacramento, Stockton, or Vacaville. Pay Range : starting from $49.00 per hour.

What's the Job?

Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate requirements, use cases, and process flows for workers' compensation insurance operations. Analyze current workflows in claims handling, reserving, audits, and regulatory compliance to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements. Lead data analysis efforts by extracting, cleansing, and interpreting insurance data to support decision-making and performance tracking. Support the design and implementation of system enhancements, including vendor integration, workflow re-engineering, and user acceptance testing. Develop business cases and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring compliance with California workers' compensation laws and regulations.

What's Needed?

Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Actuarial Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on workers' compensation lines of business. Deep understanding of workers' compensation insurance operations, including claims, reserves, self-insurance, and regulatory compliance. Proven ability to work with large datasets, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with data visualization tools. Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly and facilitating stakeholder collaboration.
