The Finance Director is a newly created role for our growing global fintech company and will serve in a strategic role that will report to the COO and collaborate with the operations team. This position will oversee all financial aspects of the company including financial management, treasury, forecasting, finance, accounting, and tax functions for SpiderRock Technology Solutions and its subsidiaries. The Finance Director will manage the company's financial systems, ensure accurate reporting, compliance and efficient financial operations and support its growth initiatives. This is a full-time salaried position that will work out of our state‑of‑the‑art office in downtown Chicago.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Manage annual budgeting process, and support strategic financial modeling.
- Manage relationships with third parties to support tax reporting and analysis, banking services, and audits at the holding company level.
- Develop or support management relationships with external investment firms and investment bankers.
- Assist the COO and legal counsel in managing and tracking the firm’s incentive compensation processes and policies.
Accounting, Financial Management & Reporting
Lead the preparation of financial statements and reports.Manage accounting, tax, and reporting for UK and Netherlands subsidiaries and work closely with our Finance Manager in our Netherlands office.Oversee accounting, tax and AP, ensuring robust internal controls.Supervise the annual audit process for SpiderRock Technology Solutions and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.Work closely with broker‑dealer controller to ensure coordination of activities and support of regulatory reporting and robust scalability of the organization and processes.Provide guidance with accounting standards and provide supervision to support staff responsible for financial activities in different locations or at our affiliated entities.Financial Systems Management
Manage and optimize the use of NetSuite.Support broker‑dealer accounting and coordinate on any updates to the Kiwi billing platform, ensuring systems are meeting business needs, internal control requirements, and accurate financial reporting.Coordinate with People Operations to ensure error‑free integration processes between SpiderRock systems.Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory reporting requirements.Implement and enforce policies to enhance financial and operational efficiency.Cash Flow, Banking & Treasury
Develop cash flow projections and maintain adequate liquidity for operations.Manage banking relationships and evaluate financial products essential to SpiderRock, such as credit cards, short‑term investment facilities, and access to credit lines and short‑term borrowing to mitigate risks.WHAT SPIDERROCK IS LOOKING FOR
4‑year college degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline or equivalent workMBA or CPA preferredMinimum of 10 years of relevant business experience, with experience in an accounting and / or financial leadership roleStrong accounting and auditing skills are essential to this rolePrevious experience working for one of Big 4 accounting firms is preferredExperience ideally in the private sector, with a strong understanding of the challenges associated with growing mid‑size firms, implementing new processes, and complying with finance, tax, and reporting standardsStrong technical skills with a deep understanding of financial marketsCapable of optimizing financial performance in a fintech environment, managing risk, ensuring compliance and controls, all while helping to maximize returnsHighly organized and self‑directed, with a focus on strategic financial planning and executionHigh level of integrity and honesty, essential for maintaining trust in a high‑stakes trading platform environmentStrong EQ overseeing a diverse and growing team and proven collaborating skills across multiple teamsArticulate, with the ability to clearly present complex financial information to stakeholders and lead strategic discussionsExceptional prioritizing, time management, and organizational skillsStrong work ethic and attention to detailIndependent initiative‑takerProfessional, motivated attitude along with strong interpersonal skillsWork onsite at our Chicago corporate officeOnly candidates that do not require employment sponsorship now or in the future will be consideredWHAT TO EXPECT
