District Accountant

Salary : 95,000-115,000 DOE | Full-Time, Exempt

Public Alliance, a Division of The Management Trust, provides management services for special districts throughout Colorado. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our employee-owned team. This role is hands-on and client-focused, with an emphasis on governmental and fund accounting. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the financial health of multiple special districts through accurate reporting, reconciliation, and compliance with Title 32 and other regulations.

In addition to district accounting, you will serve as the point person for corporate accounts receivable (A / R) reconciliations and related internal finance functions, supporting the Division President with special projects. While this position has no direct reports initially, it is expected to evolve into a leadership role as our team grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-cycle accounting and reconciliations for assigned special districts.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop budgets, long-range projections, and variance analysis.
• Manage and report on fund balances, cash, and investments.
• Prepare audit materials and coordinate with independent auditors.
• Ensure compliance with Title 32 requirements.
• Serve as financial liaison with Boards, consultants, auditors, and government agencies.
• Lead reconciliations for corporate accounts receivable and internal reporting.
