Job Description :
Seeking a skilled Material Handler to support production operations by managing incoming / outgoing materials, chemicals, logistics coordination, equipment movements, inventory control, and material documentation. This role directly impacts manufacturing efficiency, schedule adherence, and safety compliance within a high‑precision aerospace environment.
Responsibilities :
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials using manual methods and equipment (forklift, pallet jack, dolly, hoist,
- Research status of critical material and expedite items to support production schedules
- Manage chemicals end‑to‑end : receiving, labeling, documentation, storage, tracking, and updates in Excel and Costpoint
- Identify, red-tag, track, and dispose of expired material
- Maintain proper inventory of consumables, shop supplies, floor stock, and shelf-life items
- Interface with procurement, engineering, production control, quality, and logistics to coordinate material flow
- Conduct metrics analysis, cost analysis, and time studies
- Prepare weekly status updates and material control reports
- Maintain logistics documentation, including spares, test equipment, manuals, and maintenance materials
- Support floor teams with daily logistics needs and maintain inventory accuracy across all material locations
- Coordinate transportation of material between sites
- Evaluate and improve material handling processes
Qualifications :
High school diploma / GED with 4+ years in logistics, warehouse operations, receiving, manufacturing shop floor, or inventory controlAbility to obtain / use a forklift certificationAbility to lift 25 lbs. and stand / walk for long periodsStrong Microsoft Excel skills (sorting / filtering, formulas, data navigation)Experience with inventory management and material handling toolPreferred :
Experience with Costpoint, Cognos, MESAdvanced Excel formulas (INDEX / MATCH, OFFSET, INDIRECT)Hazardous materials or chemical handling experiencePrevious forklift / pallet jack / reach lift experienceExperience in aerospace or manufacturing shop floor environmentsAbility to work overtime
