Custodial Maintenance Specialist

Location : Springfield, VA

Employment Type : Contract to Hire

Shift Schedule : Monday to Friday, 6 : 00 AM 2 : 30 PM

Security Requirement : Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodial Maintenance Specialist to support the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of office and operational facilities. Working under general supervision, you will be responsible for maintaining designated areas and ensuring a clean, orderly environment that meets health and safety standards. This role is essential to the facility's overall appearance and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain commercial and institutional buildings, including offices, hallways, restrooms, kitchens, and storage areas
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and buffers
• Perform routine custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing, waxing, and buffing surfaces
• Maintain and restock hygiene and cleaning supplies
• Remove trash and debris, transport refuse to designated disposal areas
• Shampoo carpets and polish floors as needed
• Clean walls, windows, elevators, fixtures, and stairwells
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and perform regular checks
• Clear snow and debris from building entrances
• Monitor facility for maintenance, safety, and security concerns; report issues to supervisors
• Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures
• Comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.77 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
