As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist, You will :
Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy servicesTeach patients how to make sounds and improve their voicesTeach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capabilityEducate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessionsDocument appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policyQualifications
Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Education program approved by CAPTECurrent Occupational Therapist licensure in State and American Heart Association CPR certification required; CPR certification may be offered and completed upon hireTwo (2) years of experience in adult occupational therapy, home health experience preferredExcellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; physical therapy skills per competency checklist
