Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.

General

• 28,000+ patient visits/year
• Certified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Fully dedicated Peds ED with Pediatric Transport
• Serves as the primary PED teaching site for pediatric and family practice residents as well as medical students
• 24/7 PEM coverage with 29 shift hours of double and triple coverage
• Full integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC

Responsibilities

• Staff the Blank Pediatric Emergency Department on a PRN basis (8-12 hour shifts)
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
