Senior Fisheries Scientist

Cramer Fish Sciences (CFS) is seeking an experienced SENIOR FISHERIES SCIENTIST to join our team in Portland, OR.

The Senior Fisheries Scientist will lead and manage scientific studies on salmon ecology, fish habitat, fish-forestry interactions, and habitat restoration ensuring accurate data analysis and effective implementation of objectives, tasks, supervision of staff, and budgets. This position will contribute to developing innovative initiatives and large-scale projects that advance CFS's mission to deliver impactful, science-based solutions for fisheries, forestry, and natural resource management.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Provide specialized technical analysis and counsel directly to clients.
• Lead and oversee all aspects of project work, including scoping, implementation, data analysis, and reporting.
• Develop new project opportunities with existing and new funding sources (clients).
• Foster business development by maintaining and expanding client relationships to secure profitable projects staffed by CFS personnel.
• Manage project budgets and communicate regularly with administrative staff and clients.
• Oversee and review project tasks of scientists and specialists.
• Supervise junior staff including biologists, foresters, and technicians.
• Representing CFS at scientific conferences, delivering presentations to increase awareness of our mission and activities.
• Publish papers in leading scientific journals.

COMPENSATION :

Salary : $110,000 - $170,000 (depending on experience)
