This opportunity seeks a School Psychologist to support student learning and adjustment within a school setting in Shawnee, KS. The role centers on assessing and identifying developmental and educational needs of students, collaborating with school personnel, and implementing interventions that encourage student success. This contract position offers weekly pay and includes healthcare benefits. Hourly compensation ranges from $45-50.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students learning, social-emotional, and behavioral needs, adhering to NASP professional standards
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and evaluate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs
- Facilitate evaluation meetings and pre-staffing discussions for initial and three-year re-evaluations
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies to coordinate support services
- Assist in selecting research-based strategies to promote student engagement and learning
- Apply ethical standards and legal requirements relevant to educational and psychological services within a school environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology
- Valid Kansas Teaching Certificate with School Psychologist endorsement
- Health and Inoculation Certificate (required post-offer)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for consultation with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to perform physical demands including sitting/standing for extended periods, data entry, speech communication, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
