Step into history and become a vital part of the story at Pete's Tavern, a beloved NYC landmark in the heart of Gramercy since 1864! More than just a restaurant, we're a vibrant community hub where generations of New Yorkers and visitors come to connect from the moment they walk through our doors.

We're seeking bright, energetic, and articulate Hosts / Hostesses to be the welcoming face of Pete's! Your primary role will be to greet every guest with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, setting the tone for a memorable experience. You'll be the first and last impression, ensuring our guests feel valued and appreciated from arrival to departure. Clear and friendly communication is key as you manage seating, provide wait time estimates, and guide guests with a smile.

As the welcoming heart of Pete's, you will :

  • Greet all guests with a gracious and enthusiastic welcome, making them feel immediately at home.
  • Manage the book efficiently, ensuring smooth and organized flow within the restaurant.
  • Provide accurate and courteous wait time estimates.
  • Clearly communicate with guests regarding seating availability and any relevant information.
  • Escort guests to their tables with a friendly demeanor.
  • Bid farewell to departing guests with sincere gratitude, leaving them with a positive lasting impression.
  • Maintain a clean and organized host / hostess station.
  • Assist with answering phones and taking reservations.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless guest service.

    • Requirements :

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You must be a natural at making people feel welcome!
  • A warm, friendly, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Professional and polished appearance.
