Job Title : Design Engineer
Job Description
As a Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, testing, and analysis of aerospace valves. You will demonstrate full ownership of propulsion hardware throughout its lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-performance propulsion components. You will serve as the technical expert for both internally developed and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) valves, regulators, and actuators.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical reviews, including CoDRs, MRRs, PDRs, TRRs, data reviews, and CDRs.
- Author and execute qualification and acceptance test plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues hands-on.
- Standardize solutions across programs and product lines.
- Identify and implement cost-saving and risk-reduction measures.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver tested hardware on schedule.
- Resolve non-conformances and improve product yield and manufacturability.
- Support hardware upgrades aligned with performance and cost goals.
- Develop and validate simulation-based design methods.
- Lead failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Qualify products per SMC-S-016 and S-080 standards.
Essential Skills
Proficient in P&ID, CAD software, mechanical design, and mechanical assembly.Expertise in Siemens NX and GD&T.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.Minimum of 3 years in a valve or fluid system design-related role.In-depth understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, structural analysis, materials, and processes.Experience in fluid systems sizing, valve design and operation, instrumentation, flexible element design, integration, and fluid fittings.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with SMC-S-016 and S-080 standards (Nice to Have).Experience in DFM, FEA, valve and regulator design, liquid oxygen, cryogenic operations, modeling fluid networks, and component testing.Prefer 3-5+ years of experience; however, entry-level candidates with valve experience are also considered.Ability to work in an ever-changing / fast-paced environment.Passion for advanced technology and innovation.Work Environment

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $72.00 / hr.
