About The Role

The Senior Sales Director US is responsible for overseeing all sales teams in the US. Ultimately is responsible for hitting the budgeted targets, driving performance and customer satisfaction. The Sales Director will sit on the US Management Team, lead the US Sales management team, and carry ultimate responsibility for the entire US sales target. The sales director will be tasked with creating a fantastic culture in each team.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who will inspire and motivate their team with a high energy, building a positive culture that rewards success and values continuous improvement and development. This individual will consistently achieve and exceed sales results whilst continually evolving a data driven new sales strategy to support future growth. The person must have a background of leading account management and new sales teams and ideally has experience of managing channel and partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a commercial sales strategy to grow revenue as a member of the US management team
  • Collaborate with colleagues in different functions across marketing, editorial, finance, tech, and HR to ensure a truly aligned strategy
  • Handle and interpret previous and current sales performance data to evidence decision making around the pipeline, forecasting and strategy
  • Own strategic projects arising from leadership strategy meetings
  • Accurately forecast future sales
  • Develop and implement sales processes to facilitate sales growth
  • Manage a team of sales managers to meet and exceed individual and team objectives
  • Manage key performance indicators around calls, talk time, demos booked, pipeline production and sales
  • Coach, mentor and embed the Brightmine sales methodology throughout the team
  • Serve as a business representative at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expeditions as appropriate

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in sales
  • Minimum of 10 years sales management experience of managing sales teams, including demonstrating a proven track record
  • Has worked at a sales director level
  • Has managed both new business, partnership and renewal sales teams
  • Has a proven track record of hitting targets and building fantastic team cultures
  • A background in solution sales and SAAS sales including managing teams across the whole sales span from transactional teams to strategic teams
  • Experience leading, managing, and coaching a team to success
  • Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High ethical standards and customer focus
  • Education

    Bachelors or master’s degree in a relevant subject (business, HR, law) is preferred, but not essential.

    Primary Location Base Pay Range

    Chicago, IL : $171,100 - $317,800. Total Target Cash : $263,200 - $489,200.

    New York City : $179,000 - $332,300. Total Target Cash : $275,300 - $511,300.

    Pay mix between base and variable pay varies based on sales role; please discuss with the recruiter.
