Position Summary :

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient-centered care. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and their families to coordinate patient care effectively. Your role includes monitoring patient conditions and responding swiftly to any changes.

Requirements :

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with a current RN license in the State of Connecticut.
  • Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire.
  • Experience in surgical or labor and delivery settings, specifically assisting with C-sections.

    • Key Competencies :

  • Conduct thorough assessments and re-assessments of patient needs, incorporating psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural factors.
  • Work with the surgical team to create and implement personalized care plans for surgical patients.
  • Administer medications safely, according to established policies, and ensure the correct protocols are followed.
  • Maintain a safe patient care environment by adhering to policies for identification and site verification during surgical procedures.
  • Document nursing processes and responses to care efficiently.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and critical thinking in high-pressure situations.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to professional development.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and understand the growth needs of patients throughout their life stages.
  • Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments and materials for each procedure while preserving aseptic technique.
  • Effectively communicate with the surgical team to ensure accountability for all surgical materials.
