We are currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client specializing in custom polymer solutions and mold fabrication. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that blends technical expertise, consultative sales, and cross-functional collaboration to drive growth and deliver tailored manufacturing solutions.
Position Overview
The Technical Sales Engineer will serve as a critical bridge between customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams. This individual will identify new business opportunities, support prospective projects with technical insight, and help deliver customized, value-driven solutions that align with client needs and manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities by sourcing and supporting custom polymer manufacturing solutions
- Serve as a technical expert during the sales process, clearly demonstrating manufacturing capabilities and process advantages to prospective clients
- Build, manage, and strengthen long-term client relationships to drive customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Travel to customer sites to provide consultative support and personalized service
- Partner closely with Engineering and internal stakeholders to develop accurate, competitive pricing, quotes, and proposals
- Meet and exceed sales goals by tracking performance metrics and adjusting strategies as needed
- Anticipate technical, sales, and manufacturing risks while contributing to mitigation strategies
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)5-7 years of progressive experience in technical sales, project engineering, or a customer-facing engineering roleWorking knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes and mold fabrication is strongly preferredFamiliarity with polymer materials and their applicationsExperience collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and sales teamsRequired Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of material flow and MRP / ERP systemsExcellent computer proficiency (MS Office Suite, MS Project; design / visualization tools a plus)Proven project management and organizational skillsExceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgmentSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and influence othersPhysical Requirements
