Position Summary :

  • The Environmental Services Director is responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the facility.
  • This position manages the housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure that all resident rooms, common areas, and workspaces are clean, sanitary, and comfortable.
  • The Director ensures compliance with state, federal, and infection control regulations and promotes a positive, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Plan, organize, and direct all environmental services (housekeeping and laundry) operations.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and laundry facilities to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning and laundry supplies; prepare and manage the department budget.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules, deep-cleaning routines, and infection control procedures.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Nursing departments to address environmental concerns and infection control needs.
  • Oversee laundry operations, ensuring proper handling and labeling of residents’ personal items.
  • Maintain records of inspections, safety checks, and in-services.
  • Promote teamwork and communication between environmental services and other facility departments.
