Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of federal tax compliance and reporting, including the preparation of federal tax returns and ASC 740 calculations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of federal income tax returns Form 1120).
- Assist with the calculation of the company's quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
- Gather and analyze financial data for tax reporting purposes.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records and work papers.
- Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the accounting and finance team.
- Assist with special projects and other tax-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax accounting.
- Strong understanding of federal income tax principles and regulations.
- Experience with preparing federal tax returns.
- Experience with ASC 740 calculations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA certification.
- Experience with tax research databases RIA Checkpoint, Bloomberg Tax).
- Experience with specific tax software OneSource, Corptax).
- Familiarity with state and local tax issues.
