American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a NE or compact license, EPIC familiarity, and night shift availability for a Level II trauma setting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 33-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute hospital settingPrimary patient population includes trauma, cardiac, overdose, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress casesNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 2-3 for adultsPatients range from high-acuity adult ICU needs including ventilator and advanced cardiac supportRNs are required to titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation dripsUse and troubleshooting of ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, nasal cannula, and high-flow equipmentMonitors and tele equipment (GE brand) used with tele tech oversight; RNs responsible for strip interpretation and documentationFloating required to PCU or MedSurg with appropriate patient ratiosNight shifts are 12 hours (1830-0630); every other weekend requiredMust work a minimum of 2 holidays during the contract periodPass / fail open-book skills exam required during orientation; minimum score of 90% needed to continue assignmentTravelers will have one shift of unit-specific orientationArtificial nails are not allowed; compliance is mandatory for continued employmentSupport staff includes nurse aides based on census, and healthcare support tech available weekdaysSelf-scheduling for core staff; travelers will be added as needed but block scheduling is not guaranteed, except possibly for weekendsMust submit all time-off requests (maximum 7 days per contract) up front; no additions or changes permitted after assignment acceptanceMust wear hospital-approved scrubs\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact state RN license required at time of application; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required; pending certifications not acceptedExperience with EPIC EMR preferredAbility to titrate a variety of IV drips and monitor advanced cardiac and respiratory support equipmentMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility, confirmed with a valid driver’s licenseCandidates must not be currently or recently (within one year) employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in a full-time, part-time, or PRN capacityProfessional references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
