American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg RN with an active OR license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and comfort with titrating cardiac drips for a night shift position.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in an acute care hospital setting within the Med / Surg and IMCU unitsPatient population includes orthopedics, post-surgical, COPD, CHF, PNA, HTN, DM Type 2, and some pediatric patientsMed / Surg nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5; IMCU ratio is 1 : 3Drip titration required for Cardizem, Amio, and HeparinMonitor techs are available; nurses must interpret and read tele strips using Mindray equipmentShifts are 12 hours, working nights from 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30amWeekend coverage is required every other weekendNo on-call or standby requiredNo regular floating, but may assist in ED or ICU if prior experience and staffing needsUses Epic for electronic chartingSmall 40-bed community hospital (trauma level 4) with Med / Surg, IMCU, and ICU on the same floorProvide care to a diverse Med / Surg and IMCU patient population including medical, surgical, and some pediatric casesMay assist as needed as helping hands in the ER or ICU, but will not take a patient assignment thereRT equipment includes CPAP, CI-PAP, vents, Vapotherm, and high flow devicesOrientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptorMay be included in the holiday rotation if it falls on a scheduled shiftAny color scrubs allowed, but must be clean and professional with natural hair colors and no visible face tattoos allowed during shift\n \n Requirements\n
