Our client in Newport, RI is seeking a full-time Dietary Aide to become a part of their team! We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional nutritional care within a nursing facility . The ideal candidate will support food service operations, assist with meal preparation, and ensure the safety and sanitation of the dietary department. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to residents' well-being through quality food service and support a positive dining experience.
Candidates must have open availbility to work a variety of different shifts! See below to get an idea for how shifts will reflect on a daily / weekly basis- Hours for coverage are 7AM-7PM. This role is responsible for assisting cooks with the preparation and service of meals and maintain a clean and safe work environment. The dietary aid is responsible for setting up trays, cleaning dietary and dishwashing areas and maintenance of dishes, pots and pans, and utensils, as well as stocking food and supplies as needed. Dietary aids are supervised by the cook and are expected to perform routine assignments independently.
Responsibilities :
Read and interpret meal tickets so the proper foods and condiments are put on each tray.
Visually inspect each tray to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
Scrape, rack, wash, and sanitize soiled dishes.
Inspect, unload and store clean dishes.
Clean and set up food carts.
Stock and maintain nourishment kitchen supplies.
Maintain cleanliness of dishwasher and dietary work areas.
Complete daily and scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager
Qualifications :
Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred
Knowledge of food production, preparation, serving, and sanitation practices
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Previous dietary aide or food service experience is a plus
Ability to handle food safely and follow proper hygiene standards
Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents or patients
Basic kitchen experience including cooking, meal preparation, and cleaning procedures
Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation standards in healthcare or hospitality environments
Up-to-date Immunizations and Covid Vaccine
Pass national background check
Pass Fingerprint
Drug Screening
Schedule : Monday- Friday, and every other weekend
Shifts : Candidates must have open availibility because shifts will be a variety each day as listed below.
