Salary : $12 - $14 per hour
Shift : 7 : 30AM - 2 : 30PM
(Monday - Friday)
Position Overview :
The Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. This role is focused on helping children grow socially, emotionally, and academically while assisting with daily activities, organization, and classroom routines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Lead Teacher in carrying out daily lesson plans, projects, and group activities.
- Support children with learning tasks, play, and hands-on activities.
- Monitor and supervise children during meals, rest periods, and outdoor play to ensure safety.
- Help maintain an organized and clean classroom by preparing materials, sanitizing toys, and wiping down tables and surfaces.
- Encourage positive social interactions and support childrens emotional development through patience and guidance.
- Provide feedback and observations to the Lead Teacher regarding childrens progress and needs.
- Assist with classroom transitions, arrival, and dismissal routines.
- Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher and management about classroom concerns or supply needs.
- Step in to cover short-term classroom needs if the Lead Teacher is unavailable.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred) or related field with child development coursework.Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred).At least 12 years of experience in a childcare or early learning setting.Ability to follow established lesson plans and routines.Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to collaborate with the Lead Teacher and management.Flexible and dependable in maintaining work schedule.Personal Qualities :
