About This Role

As a Building Controls Sales Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by expanding ALC's customer base and consistently exceeding sales targets. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at building strong client relationships, and delivers exceptional customer service. This role is field-focused, with approximately 80% of your time spent visiting client sites across the Greater Columbus, OH area and 20% based in the ALC office.

The Building Controls Sales Specialist is eligible to participate in the applicable Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), rewarding high performance and sales achievement. Key Responsibilities

• Drive Commercial Growth : Expand and manage the commercial client portfolio, consistently achieving or surpassing annual sales and gross margin targets.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management : Cultivate and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Strategic Market Positioning : Promote ALC as the preferred solution for building automation design, ensuring strong brand presence and market influence.
• Project Estimation & Bidding : Conduct detailed take-offs and prepare competitive bids across the full range of ALC offerings.
• Specification Development : Influence design specifications with consulting engineers, architects, and commercial contractors to align with ALC's comprehensive solutions.
• Contract Negotiation : Lead negotiations with contractors and stakeholders to define scope, specifications, pricing, and favorable terms and conditions.
• Client Presentations : Deliver persuasive presentations to building owners and their representatives in direct engagement scenarios.
• Sales Planning & Execution : Utilize CRM and sales tools to plan, track, and optimize sales activities, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
• Pipeline Management : Maintain a high level of sales activity to build a robust pipeline and effectively guide opportunities through the sales cycle to closure.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
• Customer Advocacy : Serve as a dedicated advocate for customers, ensuring their needs are met and satisfaction is consistently achieved.
