Aircraft Structures Engineer Jobs 1 STS Technical Services is hiring a Principal Structures Engineer in Hebron, Kentucky. This role supports one of the most complex and demanding areas of commercial aviation engineering, and the selected candidate will help ensure the safety, reliability, and airworthiness of Atlas Air’s structural systems across multiple fleets. Responsibilities Provide budgetary data on projects and issues as directed Prioritize Structures Engineering actions Report on the status of projects and issues as directed Issue instructions and documents to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner Provide assistance to develop Engineering Handbook and Company Repairs Manual to standardize legacy processes Supervise the activities of the Structures Engineers, providing technical support for the existing fleet (747 and 767) and new fleet (737 and 777) Assist management of the Liaison Engineering Support Team to supplement existing Structures Engineering AOG and 24 / 7 technical support team Issue instructions and documents to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner Assist management of the Project Structures Team Monitor the development of a Mobile RAM reporting damage software to improve AOG flow time and process Manage the FAR, AD, and NPRM compliance of the existing fleet (747 and 767) and new fleet (737 and 777) Manage the review, analysis, and responses of Fleet team Idea Exchange (FIX) for existing and new fleet Manage the development of processes to effectively manage all Heavy Maintenance and Conversion MROs for major and minor repair documentation Chair, create, and manage Working Groups Develop plans, instructions, and documents to comply with FARs, ADs, and NPRMs and resolve non mandatory in service issues Participate in industry working groups, steering committees, meetings, and conferences Support integration of new and previously operated aircraft Liaise with manufacturers, maintenance representatives, repair and overhaul facilities, outside engineering departments, regulatory personnel, and other agencies Review work of consultant, contract, and MRO Structures Engineers Evaluate FARs, Notices of Proposed Rulemaking, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other notifications of in service issues Develop and or obtain approved data, acceptable data, and Alternate Methods of Compliance for repairs, alterations, and modifications Evaluate reported Level 2 and Level 3 corrosion findings, develop corrective action plans, and submit plans in accordance with regulatory requirements Evaluate discrepancies that require mandatory reporting to the FAA and submit reports in accordance with regulatory requirements Develop product improvement modifications as dictated by Reliability indicators Work with original equipment manufacturers on emerging issues to ensure safety and airworthiness and minimize economic impact Organize, develop, and provide all necessary Structures Engineering documentation required to complete aircraft structures modifications and repairs within schedule and budget Provide technical support to Tech Ops, Ground Ops, Flight Ops, and other personnel Coordinate with Engineering staff to provide 24 / 7 technical support Manage and implement the Repair Assessment Program Develop, manage, and implement programs to comply with new FARs on Repairs, Alterations, and Modifications and Aging Aircraft Programs including Widespread Fatigue Damage Review maintenance programs and initiate changes to maintenance documents Manage cross functional and cross departmental projects within technical scope Qualifications S.
