Position Summary

The Department of Ophthalmology at UNC - Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time open rank oculoplastic / orbital surgeon. Academic rank and salary are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• MD or DO required.
• Completed a 12‑24 month post‑residency fellowship training in oculoplastic / orbital surgery.
• Graduation from an approved ophthalmic residency training program and satisfactory completion of a fellowship.
• Board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for licensure in North Carolina is required.
• Excellent training in surgery of the orbit is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

The successful candidate must have excellent clinical & surgical skills, ophthalmic ultrasound experience, and a strong commitment to teaching and demonstrate an ongoing interest in clinical and / or basic science research.

NOTE : FTE is negotiable between 0.5 – 1.0 FTE . Position will also perform work occasionally at the Fayetteville VA.
