Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Expert
DOT Security's mission is to improve the security posture of client organizations by providing detection, response, risk management, and compliance services as identified and required. DOT Security will implement processes, technology, and subject matter expert personnel to monitor and respond to client needs in the cybersecurity and compliance space. Working with client organizations, DOT Security will continuously measure and improve internal processes and technology, which will translate to improved services provided to the client.
We are seeking a strategic, consultative Cybersecurity Pre-Sales expert to support DOT Security's referral-partner ecosystem in delivering DOT Security's full suite of cybersecurity services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in pre-sales environments, can clearly articulate complex security concepts, and enjoys influencing strategic outcomes. This individual acts as a subject matter expert in pre-sales conversations, helping shape deals and strengthen relationships.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary pre-sales SME for referral partners who introduce DOT into customer opportunities.
- Act as a point of contact when partners need guidance, insights, or support on whether a referral is a strong fit for DOT's services.
- Maintain strong relationships with referral partners by being responsive, credible, and easy to work with.
- Lead joint introductory calls with the customer once a referral handoff occurs.
- Conduct discovery, assess needs, and align DOT's cybersecurity services to customer environments and challenges.
- Present DOT's value propositions in a clear and business-focused way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Help qualify opportunities and work with the sales team to build accurate scopes of work.
- Work closely with DOT's sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from referral to qualified opportunity.
- Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on partner trends, customer needs, and common patterns observed from referrals.
- Assist in shaping proposals and supporting the sales team with technical insights.
- Participate in customer presentations, proof-of-concept discussions, and solution walk-throughs as needed.
- Document pre-sales activities and maintain visibility into partner-sourced pipeline.
Things We Are Looking For
510+ years in a pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or technical account management role.Experience with cybersecurity services, MSSPs, or managed IT providers required.Strong understanding of common security frameworks, risks, technologies, and compliance concepts.Ability to simplify technical concepts for business-focused audiences.Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on support.Familiarity with cybersecurity assessments, managed detection & response, incident response, and vulnerability management.Experience working within or supporting partner sales channels.Confidence leading discovery conversations and whiteboarding solution concepts.Adaptability in fast-paced, high-growth environments.Education
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or security certifications (Security+, CISSP, CISM, etc.) preferred.Benefits

At DOT Security, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $150,000-$170,000 plus bonus and / or commission plan eligibility, if applicable.
