Addiction Counselor - Full Time + Weekly Pay

Amergis Staffing isseeking a dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team in Pinellas County. Inthis role, you will provide counseling and support services to students dealingwith substance use challenges, helping them develop coping strategies and achievepersonal and educational goals

Position Details

Pay : $ 40-48 / hr

Location : St. Petersburg, FL

Schedule : Monday - Friday (40 hours / week)

Shift : 8am-4pm

Benefits : Weekly pay + Full benefits packageavailable

Requirement : Certified Alcohol and DrugCounselor (CADC) certification OR Alcoholand Drug Counselor (LADC) license

Preferred Experience : Clinical or counselingexperience with youth or young adults

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Addiction Counselor is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing all programs related to substance use and abuse prevention and intervention in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant and Health Services staff, center physician and Center Director.
• The Addiction Counselor coordinates all programs designed to reduce and eliminate substance use and abuse and in compliance with the Department guidelines.
• Conducts in-service training sessions with both staff and students in all areas related to substance use and abuse.
• Submits recommendations to the Center Director for medical terminations related to substance misuse and abuse in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant, center physician, Health and Wellness Manager (RN), etc.
• Monitors behavior and progress of students involved in the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention / Intervention Program.
• Maintains confidential reports and records on all referrals and cases.
