[job_card.job_description]Work day shifts with weekends, on-call, callbacks, and holidays as per unit needs Schedule may be 36 or 40 hours per week Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs per physician orders Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions Position patients accordingly, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility Handle all radiologic equipment safely while keeping patient dose as low as possible Observe patient status and interpret age-specific needs Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation Utilize electronic patient information systems and practice dual patient identifier procedures Maintain accurate patient record keeping and ensure images are sent to PACS system correctly Completion of formal training in approved School of Radiologic Technology required Maintain certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) New York State license required (or ability to obtain prior to starting) 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience required Level 1 trauma center experience required BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required Experience using c-arm / o-arm within past 8 months required Ability to stand for extended periods and move / lift patients Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required Referral bonus
