Operations Manager
We're looking for an Operations Manager to own Casa's operations and growth in Los Angeles.
You'll build the local team, run day-to-day field operations, and prove the unit economics that unlock our next five markets. This is a high-ownership role : you'll recruit and coach handymen, manage vendor relationships, use data to diagnose bottlenecks, and be Casa's face to homeowners on the ground.
Expect to spend meaningful time in the fieldriding along on visits, QA-ing completed jobs, coaching your crew, and solving problems in real time. You'll also build the systems and processes that make LA more efficient every week.
If you're an operator who thrives in 0-to-1 environments, loves translating messy reality into repeatable process, and wants to own & grow a market end-to-end, this role is for you.
What You'll Own
Build & manage LA field operations. Recruit, hire, and coach a high-performing team of handymen and specialists. Set clear expectations, develop talent, and maintain quality standards. Ensure every homeowner visit happens as planned with a consistent, trust-building experience.
Own local relationships. Build strong relationships with homeowners, handymen, third-party vendors, and other partners. Adapt your communication style to each audience and create trust across the ecosystem.
Drive local member acquisition. Run community events, build partnerships, and experiment with grassroots tactics that get Casa in front of homeowners. You'll work closely with our HQ growth team but own execution on the ground.
Use data to drive decisions. Track the metrics that matter : visit completion, handyman performance, homeowner satisfaction. Diagnose bottlenecks in staffing, scheduling, and supply / demand. Surface insights quickly and guide with both quantitative and qualitative judgment.
Improve operations week over week. Identify patterns, test improvements, and operationalize what works. You'll constantly be tightening the feedback loop between what's happening in the field and what needs to change in our systems.
About You
You're an operator with strong analytical instincts, excellent people judgment, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. You don't necessarily need to be a home services / trades expert. You might have :
At least 3-5 years experience in operations marketplaces, consulting, logistics, finance, hospitality, facilities management, or similar environments where you moved fast and solved problems with incomplete information
Experience managing teams you assess talent quickly, set clear expectations, coach performance, and hold people accountable
Analytical and structured you diagnose issues methodically, build repeatable processes, and use data to guide decisions (you don't need to write SQL, but you should be fluent in spreadsheets and dashboards)
Energized by field work you want to be on-site regularly, not behind a desk. You learn by seeing, doing, and being close to the work
What sets great candidates apart :
High standards you notice the details (tone, punctuality, presentation, follow-through) and won't compromise on quality
Ownership mindset you thrive without a playbook, build systems from scratch, and iterate quickly based on what you learn
Empathy for homeowners you understand the high trust required to deliver a service inside someone's home and make decisions with that context in mind
Preferred Backgrounds (not required, but helpful) :
Marketplace operations (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Instacart, Gopuff, mobility)
Management consulting or finance (structured problem-solvers with strong judgment)
GM, or City Manager roles at operational startups
MBAs with hands-on operating experience
