Sr Safety And Training Supervisor

Transdev in San Bernardino is hiring a Sr Safety and Training Supervisor. The Sr. Safety and Training Supervisor, under the direction of the Safety & Training Manager, will be responsible for the proper training of designated employees according to county and company policies and programs. This position is based in San Bernardino, CA in supporting the Omnitrans Contract. Transdev is proud to offer :

Competitive compensation package of $25.25 / hr - 31.50 / hr. Benefits include :

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts and coordinates all driver training activities including initial training and retraining, utilization and supervision of Driver trainers and the Driver training program.
  • Assist with Classroom training and behind the wheel training in the absence if designated trainers.
  • This position coordinates all safety education programs for the property.
  • Coordinates Safety Meetings and oversees Drive Program.
  • Coach and reinforce drive cam program.
  • Coordinates Safety campaigns.
  • Participates in the Location Safety Committee.
  • Coordinates and ensures compliance with the substance abuse testing program using Federal and Company standards.
  • Maintains personnel and qualification files pertaining to new hire, training, safety and loss matters.
  • Coordinates employee return to work with Human Resource Department.
  • Conduct interviews, hiring, follow and complete the Jobvite protocol.
  • Coordinates and ensures compliance with :
  • DOT Physicals
  • 4-year backgrounds, annual driving records
  • Driver's License
  • VTT training complete, fill out and sign forms for the renewals
  • Drug and Alcohol verification and complete
  • Smith System program, to reinforce the evaluations
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with Passenger endorsement.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOT Physical examination.
  • Trainer Certification
  • Classroom Instructor Certification
  • PODP Training Certification
  • EPC DMV Testing Program Experience
  • Three (3) years of Trainer experience.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one (3) year of service in the transportation industry, with Para, Access, Fix Route and Micro Service preferably with training experience.
  • Driver training experience preferred

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate the company vehicle without the use of DOT prohibited adaptations.
