Dispatcher - Liaison Specialist

Under the Direct Supervision of the Communication Supervisors and the Communications Director, to manage units in service and provide System Status Management for special contract EMS units. This is a 40-hour work week position that acts as the single business contact for special contracts during normal business hours. The hours will be 09:00 - 17:00. The Liaison Dispatcher Specialist will dispatch units via digital two-way radio and paging system (Mobilis), as well as receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls using the Zoll CAD (Computer Assisted Dispatch) software with 100% accuracy. This position will also answer phones, input calls, and provide support to normal communications center operations as needed.

Identifies, coordinates, and implements system status management.

Place units in service via the CAD (Computer Assisted Dispatch) software.

Track units and status via the CAD and Vanguard system in real time.

Utilize all available assets in the most efficient manner possible.

Provide call details in concise and clear manner.

Proficient use of Radio and digital communication systems.

Back up call takers as needed.

Be attentive and maintain focus on all parts of the operation.

Coordinate with the Commanders to provide accurate ETAs to Call Takers and customers.

Advanced knowledge of all Unit types and Areas of Responsibility within the Central system.

Advanced knowledge of our customer database and rankings.

Be a Critical Thinker and capable of functioning under pressure.

Fills in for lead dispatcher once approved

Other duties as assigned by the Communications manager.

The normal working conditions for this job are indoors. Frequent interruptions, work pressure, challenging personalities, and changing deadlines are all part of this job. The employee will occasionally be required to attend meetings/training, some of which may take place outside of regular working hours. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. There is some walking, bending, and kneeling required in this position. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers for typing and filing. Vision and hearing are required to perform this job while answering the telephone and entering call data into the computer.
