ABOUT Hermosa

Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Intern will be introduced to South32 Hermosa and play a key role in building the company’s brand presence at the university level. They will gain hands-on experience that prepares them for future full-time opportunities in Finance and / or Tax, while also providing valuable support to the Finance and Tax teams during year-end activities. This role is based in the Tucson office.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to :

• Assist in preparing and analyzing the weekly cash forecast to support liquidity planning and financial decision-making.
• Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, reporting, and data validation.
• Participate in special projects as assigned, tailored to business priorities and intern development goals.
• Train and ramp up to effectively deliver on weekly and monthly business-as-usual (BAU) Finance and / or Tax deliverables.
• Prepare and present an end-of-summer presentation summarizing internship learnings, contributions, and insights.
