Occupational Therapy Fellow

Responsibilities

Please provide a brief personal statement / letter of interest that includes answers to the following domains and questions. Please limit your response to each question to 250 words. Please submit attachment and three letters of recommendation along with resume in application. (Personal Statement and Letter of recommendation forms are under attachments).

Clinical Experience

1. Please describe a meaningful experience in LGBTQIA2s+ health that has prepared you for both the clinical and academic aspects of this fellowship.

2. Please describe your experience working with interdisciplinary teams to provide inclusive, well-rounded care. How have you worked collaboratively with other healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, social workers, and mental health professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for your patients? How have you taken initiative in the past to promote the need for occupational therapy for a client to a team? Scholarship (Research and Education)

3. What type of educational activities have you led for community members, peers, OT faculty, or other medical professionals? Were any of these activities relevant to LGBTQIA2S+ health?

4. What type of scholarly project or research topics are you most interested in pursuing in a fellowship? How does your previous academic work inform or prepare you for this project? How do you see this project helping you move into a future role? Advocacy

5. How do you measure the impact of your advocacy and service efforts? Can you describe how you have evaluated the effectiveness of your past advocacy work, and how you have used this information to inform future efforts? Future Career

6. What are your future career aspirations and how do they relate to the LGBTQIA2S+ community? How do you plan to use your training and skills to address health disparities and improve healthcare outcomes for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals

Qualifications

Masters in Occupational Therapy required

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION (Must be obtained by July 2025)

Certifies Occupational Therapy License in the State of Ohio

Registered through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
