POSITION SUMMARY
The Cafe Program Supervisor is part of the Housing and Homeless Engagement Services team at Inspiration Corporation. The Cafe Program Supervisor oversees the Cafe and connected Homeless Engagement Services, including front of house cafe space, volunteer engagement and other supports for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The Cafe Program Supervisor is responsible for reporting on meals and other services, supervising Cafe Coordinator and Cafe Program Coordinator position, serving on Leadership Team, supporting safety, compliance, facilities and training outcomes, upholding cafe polices and ensuring the cafe remains a safe environment. The Cafe Program Supervisor also supports Housing and Homeless Engagement resources, including participant support and referral partnerships and linkage agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS : 2-3 years of experience working in a customer service, food service and / or social service setting. Experience working with persons experiencing or at risk of homelessness. English-language proficiency to communicate with volunteers, staff and meals guests, write meal order tickets and serve meals required. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Experience in a work environment supported by volunteer services, knowledge of mental health first aid, crisis prevention / de-escalation, motivational interviewing and other best practices is preferred. A valid Chicago Food & Sanitation License, First Aid and ServSafe Manager's certification, within three months of position start date is required (training provided).

WORK ENVIRONMENT : - Thework environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position will work directly with participants, volunteers and staff. A typical shift starts at 5 : 00a.m. and concludes at 1 : 00p.m. on all weekdays including holidays (i.e. 6.a.m - 9a.m. with flex time available). Work shifts will be determined by management. Attends evening, weekend, and early morning meetings and functions as required.
