ER / ECC Veterinary Assistant- Swing

About the Role

Emergency and Critical Care Assistants (ER / ECC) play a vital support role in providing urgent and intensive care to animals in critical conditions under the supervision of veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians.

Compensation : $18 - $24 depending on experience + $2.50 / per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6pm-6am

Anticipated Schedule : Full Time Swing Shifts Days / Hours : TBD

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare exam rooms for each visit, including tools needed for each exam.
• Retrieve patient charts from client services or referring department on behalf of the technicians when asked.
• Obtain other vitals, lab work, and diagnostics as needed per doctors or technician orders.
• Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
• Care for hospitalized patients - administer medications, monitor vital signs, other duties as ordered by the treating veterinarian or treating ER technician.
• Clean kennels, runs, wet tables and all other areas of the treatment area and hospital as needed.
• Assist in Ultrasound if needed.
• Laundry
• Basic grooming as needed.
• Other duties as needed.
