Compensation : $100,000 - $150,000 base salary
Incentive Bonus : 17.5% Director Incentive Bonus

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller to provide financial leadership and oversight for a large acute care hospital campus. This role is responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting executive leadership with budgeting, audits, and financial analysis.
The Controller will supervise accounting staff, partner closely with finance leadership, and play a critical role in maintaining compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency across all accounting functions.
Facility Overview
This 460+ bed acute care hospital has served the Richmond community for more than 50 years and is a regional leader in orthopedics, joint replacement, behavioral health, cardiovascular care, and surgical services. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center and Level I Burn Center and has earned national recognition for quality and patient outcomes across multiple service lines.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor the Assistant Controller and accounting team
Organize and manage departmental functions through clear assignment of responsibilities and timelines
Establish and monitor productivity goals for the accounting department
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication within the department and with hospital leadership
Support the preparation of annual budgets, cost report workpapers, and ad hoc financial analyses in partnership with finance leadership
Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits
Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies as needed
Oversee timely and accurate month-end close for the hospital and affiliated entities
Recruit, train, evaluate, and develop accounting staff to ensure technical excellence and high-quality service
Ensure internal controls are effective and properly documented, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Maintain balance sheet accuracy through timely reconciliations, financial attestations, and monthly balance sheet reviews
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (preferred)
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (required)
5+ years of accounting experience with 1-2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting (preferred)

Pay Details : $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 per hour
