Synergy Care is looking for a qualified licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant for a full-time position at AL / memory care community with an onsite outpatient clinic.
Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to assist in the delivery of occupational therapy services. The COTA helps patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working by implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as established by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities, including self-care, mobility, and daily living skills
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising OT
- Document treatment sessions, patient responses, and progress in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Assist in the selection, fabrication, and use of adaptive equipment and therapeutic tools
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient care goals
- Comply with all federal, state, and facility policies, procedures, and ethical standards
Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant programCurrent state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy AssistantNational Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certificationCPR / BLS certification (as required by facility)Skills & Competencies
