JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern seeks a skilled Power Plant Operator I to support the Thermal Energy Plant team with daily operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, HVAC/refrigeration systems, steam systems, cooling towers, pumps, water treatment, and building automation equipment. Working under close supervision, this role performs semi-skilled mechanical and electrical tasks to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.
The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of power plant or thermal energy plant work experience, particularly in boiler and chiller operations. A certified operator program or power plant technology education is preferred, along with experience in electrical, plumbing, controls, and welding.
This position is based on the Dallas campus and requires schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, holidays, and potential on-call coverage during emergencies or staffing needs.
