COMMUNITY LIAISON - HOSPICE OF THE BIG COUNTRY

Description

This position performs and is responsible for coordinating the promotion of the programs and services of hospice with the goal of increasing referrals. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and nurturing physician relationships and other referral sources, marketing hospice to businesses and individuals, assisting staff in establishing physician relationships, community education, maintaining promotional items, and analysis of referral trends.

• Develops and maintains contact / relationships with local and area physicians / referral sources.
• Manages hospice presence at local and area health fairs and similar events.
• Fosters and maintains a community relations program through contact with service organizations that could benefit from hospice programs and services. Presents or coordinates presentations to these groups as requested.
• Maintain an ongoing list of outgoing hospice folders to physician offices. Drop off / pick up all requested hospice documents.
• Creates, oversees, and sends out all flyers / cards for hospice events.
• Assists Marketing Director with events as requested.
• Coordinates special events designed to increase awareness and utilization of hospice services.
• Develops and maintains a database of physician contacts.
• Analyzes referral trends and identifies opportunities to increase referrals.
• Maintains current hospice bio page for welcome packets.
• Assists clinical staff with physician visits and luncheons.
• Effectively develops and maintains relationships with physician offices and key contacts.
• Assists with problem-solving issues with physician offices and key contacts.
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related degree. Certifications are highly desired, but not a requirement. This position requires the ability to work independently, prioritize day-to-day responsibilities, have an outgoing personality, and possess the ability to deal with people in a variety of settings with varied educational and clinical backgrounds. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
