The Senior Director of Medical Excellence plays a pivotal role in elevating and harmonizing systems, principles, capabilities, and standards ensuring medical teams across Danaher DX are impactful, credible, science based, patient centered, and strategically aligned. Core standards components are : scientific and clinical integrity, strategic alignment and partnership, governance and compliance, operational and process excellence, and external engagement and thought leadership. This leader will be responsible for establishing harmonized ways of working elevating the impact of all components of medical teams across operating companies and disease areas. You will be accountable to establish standards and lead programs that position Danaher's medical science organization as a trusted source of medical expertise, elevate scientific rigor, and integrate evidence generation strategies ensuring maximum clinical and business impact. This position will be based in the United States and is eligible for a remote work arrangement. In this role, you will have the opportunity to :

Medical Excellence Strategy : Lead and execute scalable programs to embed medical excellence across operating companies and franchises (Neurodegenerative Disease, Oncology, Infectious Disease, and Acute Care), aligning teams to deliver integrated medical plans that differentiate products through clinical value.

Governance, Process and Cross-Functional Collaboration : Establish governance, evaluate and enhance existing processes as well as Good Practice Principles and foster collaboration across Medical & Scientific Affairs teams, ensuring knowledge sharing, best practice adoption, and executional discipline.

Evidence Generation & Integrated Medical Planning : Oversee integrated medical and evidence planning across franchises and operating companies to support regulatory approval, clinical adoption, and reimbursement.

External Engagement : Build principles and infrastructure for KOL engagement enhance Danaher's external scientific partnerships and strategic collaborations.

Capability Building : Develop high-performing MedSci teams; establish KPIs, governance frameworks, and a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include : Education : Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Medicine, or a related field; MBA or advanced business / medical education is a plus. Experience : 15+ years in medical affairs, clinical development, or related fields within diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals, with demonstrated expertise in medical excellence and / or operational process leadership. Strategic Leadership : Proven ability to design and execute medical strategies that deliver differentiated evidence generation and clinical impact. Executional Excellence : Strong track record in regulatory processes, clinical trials, KOL engagement, and scientific communications. Interpersonal Skills : Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing abilities, with experience leading matrixed, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications : Deep experience in diagnostics or medical devices, especially within Danaher's key franchises (NDD, IDAC, Oncology). Familiarity with AI, multimodal biomarkers, and advanced evidence-generation methodologies. Strong knowledge of regulatory and payer landscapes, with the ability to align strategies for adoption and access.

The annual salary range for this role is $240-$280K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.
