Sr. AWS DevOps Database Engineer

Clearance : Must be eligible for a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)

Location : Washington, DC (Hybrid, mostly remote)

We are looking for a Sr. AWS DevOps Database Engineer which requires expertise in AWS RDS (Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle on EC2), database administration, infrastructure automation, and DevOps best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the design, automation and maintenance of an AWS environment. They will also have experience building Terraform infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions, working with CI / CD pipelines, disaster recovery, cost management and implementing monitoring and security best practices across AWS environments. Additionally, this role involves mentoring engineers, improving DevOps processes, and collaborating with development teams in an Agile Scrum environment to maintain and enhance cloud infrastructure. This role ensures infrastructure remains robust, secure, and scalable while driving cost optimization, security best practices, and incident response strategies. Experience migrating cloud workloads to AWS is required.

Responsibilities :

Database Administration & Support

• Deep experience designing, operating, and optimizing Oracle database environments in AWS, with a focus on scalability, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Proven ability to support enterprise Oracle workloads in AWS, including architecture design, operational automation, and adherence to best practices for cloud-hosted databases.
• Experience with AWS MySQL RDS.
• Ability to tune, monitor, backup, restore and support AWS RDS
