JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for nutrition risk screening, nutrition patient assessments, education/instructions, community projects and related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assures the provision of quality nutrition care through assessment of the nutritional status of patients of all
ages (pediatrics, adolescents, adult-young, and geriatric) and provides education and counseling to patients
(inpatient and/or outpatient) and /or family members on therapeutic diets as prescribed by physician.
- Provides recommendations based on the assessments of the medical record including supplements, nutrition
support and calorie counts.
- Communicates/interacts with members of the Health Care Team via personal conversation and medical
records for better patient care.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Assists with nutrition and diabetes education and community projects.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Nutrition or related field.
- One year experience or the equivalent in hospital and/or community preferred.
- Licensure with the State Board of Examiners for Dietitians required.
- Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association required.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of enteral and parenteral nutrition.
- Must be able to take on-call responsiblities on weekends and/or holidays during the hours from 8: a.m. to 5: p.m.
