CNC Machinist - Second Shift

Overview

Set-up and operate CNC and Manual Turning and Milling Machine Tools. Machine product from various materials to blue print, sketches, work instructions and work procedures.

• Second Shift Position

This position is for second shift, with a regular schedule of 3 : 00PM - 11 : 00PM. However, initial training will be conducted on the first shift (7 : 00AM - 3 : 00PM) for a designated period. Upon successful completion of training, the employee will transition to the standard second-shift schedule.

Qualifications

Education / Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent- Trade School Diploma preferred. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the set-up and operation of CNC and Manual Machine Tools. Experience with the methods and devices to lift heavy irregularly shaped objects.

Knowledge : Advanced shop mathematics, able to read complex blue prints, understand the order of machining operations and good manufacturing practices. Understands set up operation & program of

G & M codes.

Skill : Able to correctly use and read precision measuring tools ( i.e. Micrometers, Vernier Calipers and Indicators.) Ability to control the machine tool to hold specified tolerances. Verbal and written communication skills to convey information within the organization. Ability to solve practical manufacturing problems with little guidance. Basic computer skills ( i.e data entry, editing, searching.) Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks.

Physical / Environmental Demands : Possess manual dexterity sufficient to reach / handle items with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials. Able to lift, carry, move, push or pull up to 50 lbs. Work near moving mechanical parts.
