General purpose : We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Senior Finance Consultant with a strong focus on the medical device sector and a proven track record in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for early-stage companies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of complex financial modeling, cash flow optimization, and the specific accounting standards. This role will involve partnering with client’s leadership to drive financial strategy, managing comprehensive reporting and compliance for investors and boards, overseeing fundraising due diligence, and optimizing financial operations to support scalable growth.
Responsibilities :
- Strategic Financial Planning : Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive financial models to support business planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Provide executive-level recommendations on cost optimization, pricing strategies, and revenue projections to drive growth for medical device start-ups.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Management : Oversee the preparation of accurate, compliant financial statements and serve as the primary financial liaison for investors, board members, and regulatory authorities. Spearhead the financial preparation for fundraising activities, including managing complex due diligence processes.
- Liquidity & Cash Flow Optimization : Actively monitor cash flow patterns to optimize working capital and ensure adequate liquidity for daily operations. Develop and implement rigorous cash flow forecasting models to provide clear visibility into the company's financial runway.
- Operational Excellence & Systems : Review and optimize financial infrastructures, systems, and controls to ensure scalability and compliance with industry regulations. Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to enhance overall financial efficiency and process effectiveness.
- Regulatory Compliance & Taxation : Serve as the subject matter expert on tax laws, regulations, and incentives specific to the medtech sector. Coordinate with external tax advisors to manage filings and ensure full compliance with corporate, sales, and payroll tax requirements.
- Mentorship & Cross-Functional Leadership : Mentor and guide finance team members, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing. Collaborate deeply with R&D, operations, and marketing to ensure financial objectives are aligned with broader organizational goals.
- Financial Strategy : Collaborate with executive management to design and execute financial strategies that align with the client’s long-term growth objectives. Stay informed on emerging financial technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the finance function.
- Client Management : Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities to provide additional value or services that support the client’s specific growth stage in the medical device sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting.Minimum of 5 years in a senior finance and accounting role.Previous experience with early stage companies. Medtech is a plus.Experience with Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling, macros)Experience working in Quickbooks OnlineExperience preparing multi-year financial modelsA thorough understanding of US GAAP and month-end close processesBusiness and personal tax experience a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical and regulatory information to diverse audiences.Proven ability to build rapport and trust with clients.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Education and / or Training :
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a CPA licenseBenefits :
