Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant responsible for managing key areas of the accounting function, including fixed asset accounting, accounts payable oversight, expense allocation, debt accounting, and lease accounting to join our finance team. This role supports the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements of a publicly traded (SEC-regulated) company. Key Responsibilities
Fixed Assets
- Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accurate capitalization, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Review and reconcile construction-in-progress (CIP) activity and coordinate with operations on project status.
- Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and GAAP requirements.
Accounts Payable
Oversee AP processes to ensure timely and accurate vendor invoicing, coding, and paymentsReview vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure adherence to internal controls and approval workflows.Support AP automation and process improvement initiatives.Debt Accounting
Manage accounting for all debt instruments, including new borrowings, principal payments, interest accruals, and proper recording.Prepare monthly reconciliations of debt balances and related interest expense.Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
Maintain the company’s lease portfolio in the accounting system.Review lease contracts to determine proper accounting treatment under ASC 842.Record lease entries, including ROU asset and liability schedules, modifications, and terminations.Reconcile lease balances and support related financial disclosures.Multi-Entity Accounting
Manage accounting transactions and monthly close activities for multiple business units / entities.Prepare journal entries, accruals, and intercompany reconciliations.Support consolidation of financial statements across entities.Maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure proper documentation.Financial Reporting & Compliance
Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting for a publicly traded company, including support for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K).Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring adherence to internal controls.Prepare account reconciliations, analytics, and supporting schedules.Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and control.Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred).5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including fixed assets, AP, debt, leases responsibilities.Prior experience within a publicly traded or SOX-regulated environment strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP, depreciation, leases, and internal controls.Proficiency in accounting / ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.Preferred Attributes
